Honorable Mention Exploration of Timelessness Steve Williams The green lizard is a leaf. a red wasp scampers down his back. In bacon fat moonlight, locusts crackle, spit. Crickets sizzle. Lunar years are twenty-eight days. To age is not always to grow. most sunsets are orange, purple, a few are refracted memory. Light of Cassiopeia left her twenty-five years ago, to see the star ends a journey, each beam dies on my face. Starlight at noon is a chameleon. You were the last to taste a kiss of moonbent sun; the first came when beer was for dinner, pizza for breakfast, when we were pre-occupied with virginity, being invincible. Each kiss of the wasp stings the same, yet unique is our measure of fear.
